8 New Alexa-Enabled Devices in Amazon’s Future
It seems as though a few weeks don’t go by without Amazon announcing another way to dominate every aspect of our homes. Now, Amazon has announced that it will release at least eight new Alexa-enabled devices. Just when you think you’ve got every possible Alexa device you could possibly need, the new releases include a microwave oven, a subwoofer, an amplifier, and a device for the inside of your car. The concept of Alexa has truly taken off, as the voice assistant is expected to be worth $30 billion by 2024, in accordance with predictions from Global Market Insights.
Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos stated that he hopes consumers are able to use Alexa devices no matter where they are, and it sure seems like that plan is off to a good start. Alexa is now in Echo Dots around the home, enabled in TV sets and Fire sticks, is compatible with the Ring Doorbell, and in many more locations. Alexa is also compatible with devices not made by Amazon, including Garmin’s dash cam, GE’s smart microwave, and an amplifier and subwoofer by Sonos.
It will be interesting to see what the next few years bring for Alexa and for the lives of consumers across the globe.
