Amazon Has Already Begun Black Friday Deals | What does that mean for sellers?

Amazon has made a jump start on this year’s Black Friday deals. Though Black Friday isn’t for a while now, Amazon has begun the shopping season early.

Amazon Black Friday deals already?

With shipping and supply chain issues expected during this holiday season, Amazon has announced that all categories across their shopping platform will see “deep discounts”. This includes home goods, electronics, toys, and fashion categories. The new Black Friday deals will be featured on a special webpage for easy browsing. The new deals will be featured on select days in both October and November featuring popular brands such as KitchenAid, Hasbro, and even Apple. Amazon expects to see new deals added each day throughout the next two months leading up to the actual Black Friday date.

Another new feature that Amazon has announced regarding gifting this holiday season is a new tool that allows US-based Prime members to send a gift without knowing the recipient’s address. This new tool will allow users to enter the person they wish to gift’s mobile number or email address. The person receiving the gift will then will be alerted of the purchase. Another feature of this tool is that the gift receiver will be given the option of exchanging their gift for an Amazon gift card without letting the sender know.

As we said, this holiday season is expected to be stressful regarding shipping shortages and bottlenecks at ports. There seems to be a tighter supply of products at the moment and this may trigger an overwhelming shopping season. This may be reason alone to start your holiday shopping early this year to get ahead of the crazy online shopping traffic and competition.

What does this mean for Amazon sellers?

As an Amazon seller, it might also be a great idea to jump on this new mentality of shopping really early for holiday gifts. Be sure to utilize your upcoming deals to remind your customers of the season that is approaching. Now is a great time to draw in returning customers to stock up on your products. It is also important to note that in the United States, the US Postal Service increased prices for the peak holiday season due to the increase in shopping online. Beginning November 1, FedEx is also adding a fuel surcharge on certain shipments including FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight, and FedEx Express shipments.

The time is now to begin planning for the holiday season.
