Recently, Amazon announced that it would be opening its very own online pharmacy, called Amazon Pharmacy. The news sent the stock of other big-name pharmacies, such as CVS, plummeting, and rightfully so–Amazon has made a habit of shaking up every industry it touches.
The overarching goal of Amazon Pharmacy is to provide Amazon shoppers with the ability to send their prescriptions to Amazon Pharmacy, allowing them to complete an entire pharmacy transaction on their desktop or cell phone through the mobile app. Amazon offers free two-day delivery for members through Amazon Pharmacy. Once you have an account, you will be able to add your insurance information, manage your prescriptions, and pay for your medication before checking out. Your medication will be sent in discreet packaging and should arrive at your two within two days. Additionally, Amazon Prime members who are paying without insurance can receive up to 80% off generic medications, as well as 40% off brand name medications.
