Amazon Plans to Hire Remote Workers

Once again, Amazon is expanding. The global company is most widely known for its internet presence, allowing shoppers to buy almost anything they need with a fast and easy click of a button. With years gone by, they continued to expand into physical stores with its own electronic devices. The company now not only has websites but warehouses and offices around the world. Most recently, Amazon is expanding into homes.

Amazon is planning to create more jobs, now from the comfort of your own home. This week, the company announced its plans to hire 3,000 remote workers across the country. The position offers candidates the opportunity to work as a customer service associate at the rate of $15 an hour. The job will require about 20-29 hours a week, with the opportunity to work up to 60 hours a week. Amazon will provide paid training for all employees who are taken on board.

In the customer service position, employees will be required to complete several tasks in order to support Amazon. This will include helping customers over the phone, through email, and even instant messenger. The job does not require any education exceeding a high school diploma. The application only asks that the applicant has prior customer service experience with good problem-solving skills and work in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate has flexible hours with the ability to work hours when customers need help the most. This includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, and even sometimes weekends.

Working for Amazon, even remotely, comes with its own great benefits. The position will provide employees with health care coverage after 90 days of employment. Employees may be eligible to receive retirement plans, overtime pay, and paid time off. Parents will also be able to take maternity/paternity leave.

The company is considering applicants in 18 states across the United States: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, and Wisconsin. The positions are limited to these states, as the employees cannot live within 50 miles of an Amazon customer service office.

The job is available to aspiring employees through their Virtual Locations page.
