Amazon Postpones This Year’s Prime Day

Amazon Postpones This Year’s Prime Day

This week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon would be postponing this year’s Prime Day until September as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Typically, Prime Day is held in July. However, now that everyone has turned to Amazon for essentials amid stay-at-home-orders, the company was forced to dedicate all of its services to those items, as other non-essential items were put on the backburner. As a result, Amazon will be postponing its Prime Day event to a hopefully more “normal” time.

Though the move is a bold one, Amazon’s stock was virtually unscathed at the news. That being said, Amazon has yet to comment on the move to set back their Prime Day event, which has been a yearly tradition since 2015.
