Amazon has recently released a statement saying this year’s 48-hour sale was the “largest shopping event in Amazon history,” which “surpassed the previous Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.” While the company has not yet released specific sales figures as of yet, they have informed the public that on Monday, Amazon has recruited more Prime members than any other previous day in Amazon history. Additionally, Tuesday added nearly as many.
During the 48-hour sale, Prime members purchased more than 175 million items, attracting worldwide attention. Some of the biggest sellers during the Prime Day sale include Amazon’s Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Amazon’s Echo Dot, and the Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote.
Some of the most successful sellers in the country were Fine Towel Tissue Roll, Al Ain Bottled Water, and Ariel Laundry Detergent. Among the other most commonly purchased this year’s Prime Day are the Instant Pot, the Echo Show 5, Crest White Strips, the Ring Video Doorbell 2, the new Kindle and Paperwhite, Ancestry’s DNA Testing Kit, the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter, the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker, Sony WH-1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Headphones, and more.
As of Wednesday, there were still certain Prime Day deals available, including deals on the Amazon Echo, the Amazon Echo Dot, the refurbished Kindle Paperwhite, the Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case, the Optoma UHL55 True 4K HDR projector, Runtopia’s S1 smartwatch, Lenovo’s Smart Clock, the GLAS Smart Thermostat, the Ninja Foodi OP301 multi-function cooker, and more.
While Amazon recorded record numbers of sales this year, the tech giant reports they expect even greater numbers during this year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, as those are not limited to Prime members exclusively.
