Amazon Prime Day coming this July

Amazon Prime Day coming this July

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the busiest online retail days of the year, but many people aren’t aware of the third. For the last few years, Amazon has hosted Prime Day, which offers sales to Prime customers. In 2016, Prime Day accounted for an estimated $525 million in sales, following the $415 million in sales from 2015’s Prime Day. This year’s event is expected to take place in the second week of July, if Amazon sticks to the pattern of the last few years. Some even suspect that Amazon will extend the sale for an additional 6 hours.

How can I sell on Prime Day?

It is important to note that Amazon is putting restrictions on which sellers can participate in Prime Day. In order to participate in Prime Day, the products must have at least a three-star rating, they must be on sale for at least a 20-percent discount, and the sellers must be able to sell without running out of the product for a minimum of 6 hours. Amazon Sellers who wish to participate in the campaign will have to pay a fee of $500 to take part.

As this is one of the biggest Amazon shopping days of the year, it may be a good event for sellers to take part in. If you are an Amazon seller and need the assistance of an experienced accountant who works with Amazon sellers, contact Ebiz Accounting today.
