Amazon Will Most Likely Invest $18 Billion This Year in Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

In a recent press release, Amazon announced that it is currently on-pace to invest up to $18 billion in small and medium-sized businesses by the end of 2020. These investments cover a lot of grounds, though they are primarily geared toward logistics, services, programs, tools, and people.

Of the move, Jeff Wilke, the CEO Worldwide Consumer at Amazon, said in a statement, “At Amazon, our mission is to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, and part of fulfilling that mission is connecting small businesses with customers. Amazon’s success is directly tied to the success of independent businesses across the U.S. We are passionate about supporting small businesses, investing and inventing on their behalf to help them be resilient through COVID-19 and beyond.”

This all comes after Amazon has rolled out over 130 new tools for sellers to take advantage of. These tools are all free for Amazon sellers, and they enable them to track their progress, gain insights into their business, and learn more about what their customers want.
