Amazon Prime Customers Can Now Order Whole Foods Online for Delivery

Amazon Prime members are now getting more for their membership. A few months back, Amazon purchased Whole Foods and now they are offering same-day shipping on products from the grocery store to Prime members. In addition to the Whole Foods products available, Prime is also going to bring an option for one-day shipping to over 10,000 of its products. This just makes Amazon that much more competitive with other top brands such as Walmart.

It is important to note that while the Whole Foods delivery through Amazon Prime is included in a standard membership, Amazon Fresh is not. Amazon Fresh is where users can buy fresh produce and a wider variety of fresh food options. This requires customers to upgrade their membership accounts and pay an additional monthly fee of $14.99.

Some of the Whole Foods products that can be purchased through Amazon will be eligible for 2-hour delivery. However, this is only available to Amazon Prime customers that have same-day shipping available where they live. Only orders that are valued at $35 or more will be able to utilize the same-day shipping options.

As 2018 progress, we will have to assess how much further Amazon delves into the food business. They are even beginning to take on restaurant delivery services such as Seamless.
