Third-Party Sellers Have a Fantastic 2020 Prime Day
Today, Amazon announced that this year, third-party sellers have earned more than $3.5 billion in the 2020 Prime Day event. This comes at a near %60 increase from last year, which is promising news to all those who are planning to become third-party sellers on Amazon. According to Amazon’s blog, the most popular categories of items sold this Prime Day include Arts, Bedding, Crafts & Sewing, Health Care, Nutrition & Wellness, and Wireless Accessories. This comes after a phenomenal two weeks leading up to Prime Day, wherein small and medium-size businesses made about $900 million in sales due to the Spend $10, Get $10 promotion.
Of the event’s success, Jeff Wilke, CEO Worldwide Consumer stated, “We are thrilled that Prime Day was a record-breaking event for small and medium businesses worldwide, with sales surpassing $3.5 billion—an increase of nearly 60% from last year. We’re also proud that Prime members saved more than $1.4 billion, and we look forward to providing more opportunities for our selling partners to grow and customers to save throughout the holiday season. I’m incredibly thankful to our employees and partners around the world who helped make Prime Day possible, especially the dedicated front-line teams in our fulfillment centers and delivery operations.”
